Please CONGRATULATE to the new President on Tuesday by all channels and DEFINITELY ASK the question " Now that you are the president, do you want to further punish us for being legal and sticking to the rules and hence make us wait forever in these long painful EB2/EB3-I long queues, . Mention about 5882, small admin fix.

Are you kidding me $400.00 I paid $115.00 Including tetanus shot and tb shot. $35.00 for the lab work and my husband's insurance covered the x-ray because I Knew it would com back positive. What a rip off

I just bought a new D70 and was interested in getting some advise from current owners about additional lenses and accessories.
Was looking at buying a SB-800 flash. Is this the best option?
The SB-800 is excellent, but a bit expensive. Worthwhile if you can afford it.
How about additional lenses? I have an 18-70mm AF that came with the camera.
I am looking for other nikkor lenses that are very handy to have, meaning won't sit in the bag most of the time.
Any other advice or help would be much appreciated.

So I have sent them 2 applications
one for my daughter (add OCI to new passport) and one for my son (get new PIO)
All have same documents and so have sent proof of address for both the applications.
My son's got flagged for missing proof of address and so sent them the DL copy (mine, do not have wife's will try sending them the AP as you folks have mentioned, thanks !)
Intrestingly my daughter's got flagged for missing photo copies and have been charged $20 for 10 pages :mad: which by the way I am sure I had sent to them...
and now they are saying I have not sent the old passport that has the U visa.
Now this is a new requirement and was not there previously , before they were asking only for copy of old visa. I have a print out of the requirements from the day I filed.
Apparently, the indian consualte keeps chaing requirements every day is what I was told over the phone.
and reaching them seems to be a very painful wait :( 30 minutes to 1 hour at the least
So far I must say I am not impressed with thier service...but anyways why will they care

1. My EAD is up for renewal and will there be any problems renewing it If either I am with a new employer or in between jobs when the application is being submitted?

2. My current employer will hand me my I-140. Can I restart my GC process with my new employer and still maintain my old PD of July 2003?
-- You do not have to restart anything if it has been 180 days since 485 filing and I assume it is the case as you have an EAD since last year.
3. If I restart my GC process, do I have to start my Labor and I-140 as well or do I just re-file my 485?

hi saint, nothing against you, i wonder what is the freakin logic USCIS uses to decide on 2 year EAD approval, here i am with pd not being current for atleast next 2-3 years (given the halt of eb3-I), 2nd ead extn, in my 8th year of h1b, i got a one year EAD extn, where as a eb2 person gets a 1 year validity...i only wish we can know whats going in the minds of these decision makers..

Let us give our leaders a break for now. Let us focus on filing the apps ASAP. IV core has been working on these issues for a long time. Let us knock one wicket at a time.

USCIS and DOS had to correct the bulletin in response to tremendous public pressure because quite clearly the error was theirs.
We have to use this momentum to work out two root causes of this mess which are also completely due to USCIS and FBI inefficiency, and yet the consequences are borne by applicants:
(1) Visa Number Wastage: Fix Through Recapture
(2) Name Check Delays:
(a) More than 30 FBI analysts should be granted for the process
(b) Process itself streamlined -- are the Reference file checks really useful? See Ombudsmans 2007 report.
(c) More information on name check status should be made available easily -- we should not have to ask our Congresswoman or schedule an Infopass appointment just to find out (i) when our data was submitted to the FBI and (ii) at what stage we are stuck -- IBIS, Fingerprint or the Name Check itself
We should all keep calling Lofgren's office so that she does not let up the pressure on these root causes (after all Gonzalez himself acknowledges there is a bigger problem.). I thanked her for her work so far and also emphasized that these root causes are what she should really be going after.
And in case you want to sit back down and celebrate, I just want to point out that even if you manage to file, if these two things are not fixed there is no telling how many years (decade?) you will be waiting.

Medical records are initial evidence. what it means is, that you must submit the medical records with the 485.
If you can attach some report from doc saying that it is curable or is of less percentage and blah blah blah .... as said earlier you can send in the clear report later.

I worked for company A till Jun 2003 on h1 for 3 years. Then i went back to India and switched to company B. Now I'm in US on L1 thru company B. I'm thinking of switching back to company A in US. But my H1 got expired on June 2004. My question: Is it possible to renew the original H1 processed by company A now and start working for it? Please help.

Very Interesting set of links. We need to respond to each of these journalists thanking for any positive coverage but also highlighting the specific issues that is causign the backlog (7% per country limit and lack of visa recapture). We need to request that attention be paid to this aspect and how removal of per-country limit is neccessary to eliminate the greencard backlogs (and that visa recapture will at least provide limited relief). Most of such articles praise high-skilled immigrants but do not get to the root of the issue and the possible solutions. We need some folks to help with this IV media outreach. I filed my i 140 and i 485 on Dec 23rd 2003 under EB3 category. I think my labor was filed under EB3 category. My Priority date is Mid August 2003. After 180 days of filing (around Nov 2004) I left my sponsoring company and joined another company with similar Job responsibility (to avail AC21), But didn't get my H1b transferred to new company. I got married recently and Ofcourse I can't file for my wife's i 485 since I am from India and visa numbers are not available. Can I get my H1Bvisa transferred to new employer if he is willing to sponsor? I got 3 years on H1B left
